5 to Follow: Sales Influencers You Should Be Reading Now

As salespeople we’re always trying to learn something new to get an edge. That used to come solely through conferences, trade publications, and picking up the phone to pick the brain of a mentor.

But today there are more options to learn than ever, including some fantastic blogs and Twitter accounts that drop nuggets of knowledge every day. Here are people and companies we love to follow and learn from at Acquirent.

1. Craig Wortmann, @craigwortmann

Craig Wortmann, the Founder and CEO of Sales Engine, is one of our favorites at Acquirent. From $250,000 computer systems to $1.5 million consulting projects, Wortmann is a high-performer selling products and services across the B2B and B2C spectrum.[/fusion_text][/two_third][fusion_text]Craig also teaches at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, where he designed and developed a course called Entrepreneurial Selling. Craig’s recent book, “What’s Your Story?” looks at how leaders and sales professionals use stories to connect, inspire, and overachieve. Looking for an inspirational speaker at your next company retreat? Craig is your man![/fusion_text][separator style_type=”none” top_margin=”” bottom_margin=”30″ sep_color=”” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]2. Salesforce, @salesforce

Salesforce Blog

The global cloud computing company best known for its customer relationship management (CRM) product also hosts a thought-provoking blog. If you’re working in sales it’s a must read.

It’s one of the industry’s most prolific blogs, sometimes featuring five new posts in a day from thought leaders around the globe, with posts that touch on all aspects of sales. Recent posts include, of course, 4 Ways to Personalize Your Marketing With Automation, but also non-tech posts like 5 Reasons Why Cartoons Belong in Your Marketing Campaign.

3. Matt Heinz, @HeinzMarketing

Heinz Marketing Blog

Matt Heinz focuses on three things at Heinz Marketing in Seattle, WA: Passion, Focus and Results. Every blog post and every tweet that Mark pens will help you become a better focused sales professional and get the results you are looking for. Matt wraps up all of his expert advice on a paper.li via Sales Acceleration Daily, and if you follow him on Twitter you’ll get links to that too.

4. Jill Rowley, @jill_rowley

Eloqua Blog

Jill Rowley, EloQueen, Oracle Sales Guru and marketing automation evangelist, represents the transformation occurring in today’s sales organizations, exuding a passion for social selling. Rowley believes (very enthusiastically) that salespeople are educators, thought leaders and trusted consultants. She believes in the ABCs of selling with a twist, Always Be Connecting, because social channels have transformed the way buyers buy.

5. Guy Kawasaki, @GuyKawasaki

Guy Kawasaki not only tweets more than any other human in the Twittersphere, he’s one of the most well-rounded. Kawasaki, the renowned speaker and co-founder of Alltop, the news aggregation site, has his finger on the pulse of most trends. Although he’s not a “sales expert” per se, Kawasaki will lead you to some of the best and brightest concepts on the Internet. Follow him for fun and be ready to learn something every day.
