Top 10 Reasons I Love Working at ACQ by Lisa Degliantoni
There are many reasons why we reached our 10 Year Anniversary at Acquirent and one of them is working with great people. Meet Lisa Degliantoni, our Operations Manager and one of our most enthusiastic employees!
1. Commute: It would be unfair to start this list with anything other than the commute! I live .6 miles from work and can bear crawl to my desk if necessary. Those who can’t bear crawl get here easily via bike, Metra train, CTA, bus or car.
2. Leadership: Joe Flanagan, Jeff Purtell and Geoff Winthrop are some of the best leaders I’ve worked with in my career. Accessible, smart, funny and hardworking are traits all of them have and share with the team on a daily basis.
3. Culture: The culture of this office makes coming to work every day very interesting and inspiring. We are in an environment of training and learning with guest speakers at our morning meetings from politicians to successful local business leaders and training on how to work smarter not harder.
4. Benefits: We have a fantastic benefits program that comes with support! We can reach out to financial and health advisers anytime via phone, email, or video-conference who are willing to take even the most complicated health insurance and financial planning questions.
5. Diversity: There is a tremendous amount of diversity on our team. From age to race to gender, ACQ has all kinds of people with all kinds of previous experiences.
6. Floor plan: We work in a huge wide open space surrounded by windows which provides a bright work environment with opportunities to get almost 10,000 steps a day. No doors, no offices.
7. Access: Given the lack of offices and doors, we have access to managers, partners, leadership; all levels of the company. This level of access allows you to take your problems to your manager quickly over a standing meeting and it allows you to watch how the leadership handles calls and interacts with teammates on all levels.
8. Talent: The ACQ recruiting team is always hard at work going through stacks of resumes; conducting phone and in-person interviews to include a 22-step interview process. This intense screening process guarantees we get the brightest, funniest and smartest teammates working for ACQ.
9. Energy: Our CEO Joe Flanagan has more energy and enthusiasm for work than anyone I’ve worked with. He brings his best game to work every day, starting around 6:45 a.m. with iTunes blasting tunes from the Boss to Beyoncé. We start every work day with an 8 a.m. meeting with potential clients and guest speakers thrown into the mix sometimes, which is a fantastic way to start your work day.
10. Location. Location. Location. Evanston is an amazing city to work in, especially this part of it. During orientation day you get a map of all the places to eat in a 2-miles radius from your desk – a literal food map and there are more than 50 locations on it.
