I started working for Acquirent as a sales executive a little over 2 years ago. The culture is like no other I have ever worked in before, and I have been in the workforce for quite a while! Having now been here that long and reflecting on my journey, I realized that my professional growth has spurred personal development as well. Here are some ways it happened.
Acquirent teaches five (5) keys to becoming a good sales person (Read: 5 Pillars of Success); 1) Undying Positive Energy; 2) Ask Good Questions, 3) Shut Up & Listen, 4) Product Knowledge and 5) Grit. As I dialed more than 100 numbers every day, I began to understand the importance of those key attributes. I then began to realize I have had to use those tools in every job I have ever worked in, as well as in every personal relationship I have ever had. I also noticed when those key components were not used in any relationship, whether personal or business, the relationship failed.
Working at Acquirent has taught me what it is to be a good sales person and given me every opportunity to learn how to be great. In order to be great we sometimes have to fall (a few times) to learn how to get up and stay up. Acquirent is a company that will give you their hand once you have fallen to pick you up, teach you how to stay up and continues to teach you how to reach as high as possible. The sky is the limit and Acquirent shows you the true meaning of that as well as how to continue to reach it.
One of the many hats that I wear at Acquirent is being a mentor. Being a mentor has been a fantastic experience for me, not only because it lines up with my journey to be a psychologist, but is a great opportunity for me to help guide my colleagues with their experiences at Acquirent. The mentorship program is a smart investment that Acquirent makes in their employees; other sales jobs I’ve held never took the time to invest in their employees like this. With a mentorship program in place we always have someone there for advice, to push us to do better, to provide advice on how to achieve greatness, and to act as an outlet when we need to vent.
Shortly after I started my journey here at Acquirent, I joined the social committee and have either helped with, or spearhead a lot of the really fun activities. I have since become the Philanthropy Chair, spearheading philanthropic initiatives like Pancake Friday Fundraisers, food and clothing drives and so much more. The best part is not only being allowed to give back to the community while creating an environment that sets an example of generosity and humanitarianism for the greater good of our community.
From learning how to be gritty to engagement opportunities with my colleagues, Acquirent is helping me achieve success in professional and personal life.
