Curt’s Cafe Life Changer Award

Since Curt’s Cafe opened in May 2012, Acquirent has been one of the biggest supporters of the organization. Curt’s Cafe is an Evanston-based job skills training program for at-risk youth. Acquirent believes in their mission and the great work Susan Trieschmann, Executive Director, and her team.

By sponsoring the first annual Curt’s Cafe Life Changer Award, we hope to pave the way for Evanston businesses to step up and show leadership in workforce development. In underwriting the award, Acquirent is helping Curt’s continue its work of teaching young men to fish and literally change their lives. The Life Changer award pays for one student to go through Curt’s program which provides life skills and job placement support as well and job training.

The first annual Curt’s Cafe Life Changer award will be presented to Eddie Lakin of Evanston’s Edzo’s on Nov. 1 at the Curt’s Gratitude Bash in front of nearly 200 supporters and members of the business community. Lakin is being honored for supporting the work of Curt’s Cafe by employing five graduates of the training program.

We are thrilled to attend the Bash and for the chance to support workforce development initiatives like the one at Curt’s Cafe.
